What is Anabolic Cooking?
Anabolic Cooking is a recipe book made specifically to fulfill your nutritional needs. It is aimed at gaining mass as well as losing fat. Sounds like every other muscle building cookbook doesn’t it? Well, maybe haha. Then a good question is, what makes Anabolic Cooking better than the other muscle building recipe books? To be honest, I haven’t tried all the muscle building cookbooks out there. But I will let you know what I like and dislike about Anabolic Cooking.
Just a little bit about the Author before I get into the pro’s and con’s. Anabolic Cooking was developed by Dave Ruel, a body builder. He had a similar problem as I had, and that was that food is pretty boring and difficult to eat when it’s hard boiled eggs, chicken breast, broccoli, tuna, plain oatmeal, etc, again and again. So Dave Ruel went out to create his cookbook. He said he tested out hundreds of different recipes over a four year period to come up with his best 200. Awesome.
Okay, so let’s get to the pro’s and con’s of Anabolic Cooking
Why I like Anabolic Cooking:
- Without a doubt, the BEST thing about the book is the delicious recipes. They absolutely taste fantastic. I used to hate “eating properly” while training, but with Anabolic Cooking, I look forward to eating all the time. Eating is no longer a difficult task.
- Second best thing is easily the amount of recipes. There are over 200 recipes! So, you get great tasting food and a large variety as well. Bingo Bango!
- The cookbook is easy to read and understand. If your english isn’t great you should be okay.
- Anabolic Cooking recipes were created specifically to be easy to prepare and make. That is, anyone can prepare the foods in the cookbook. I would have to say the food is not difficult to make. But you still need some basic cooking skills. If you don’t, I wouldn’t worry too much, since the steps of how to prepare the food are there.
- Most recipes can be made fast. This is just super awesome because I don’t like spending a lot of time making food.
- There are tons of bonuses that come with Anabolic Cooking. They are: A nutrition guide for body builders, Two meal plan guides – one for fat loss and one for mass gain, A personalized calorie counter, post work out shakes guide, the ugly truth about supplements guide, and training and food logs. Personally, I found some of these useful and some not so much. But they were free!
- The recipes are the real deal. The food is completely relevant to gaining a lot of muscle.
What I don’t like about Anabolic Cooking:
- Price. Well, it’s not that big deal because of what you are getting. But you can’t help but notice that 47 dollars is on the higher end for cookbooks.
- There is a lack of pictures. It would be really nice to see pictures of the food since I am a picture person.
Summary Of Anabolic Cooking
Overall, I would say this is a good investment for anyone who doesn’t know what to eat to gain muscle. And I absolutely recommend this book for anyone who is looking for variety in their foods as well. I think the only issue, if there is one, could be the price. But like I said above, 47 dollars is reasonable when you consider the time it will save you from researching bodybuilding meal plans online yourself. It’s all here in this book for you.

This is a really interesting find. Thanks for sharing it. You have clearly laid out why this book is effective at providing recipes necessary for people who want build muscle and reduce fat. The fact that it offers variety is really important, because like you said if you eat the same healthily foods again and again without variation you begin to become resentful towards the diet you need. This sounds like a great investment!

I have used this product and I find it useful.The book was easy to follow and the instructions were clear and laid out well. The bonuses were useful and a nice read. The cookbook basically takes care of the nutritional side of your fitness goals, all you need to do is follow the instructions.
I am toaltly wowed and prepared to take the next step now.
